How Do I Defeat An Enemy?
Chaos, destruction, violence and war have struck the nation and the world. It has been an issue, a never-ending problem of any society. Starting from the very small unit of a community to the largest group. Peace is really something that is very rare to achieve especially if consensus among people cannot be seen. But, how do we defeat an enemy?
Before we find good solutions in defeating an enemy, let’s discuss first the reasons why peace is slowly becoming impossible.
- Being Afraid of Responsibilities – We set boundaries as to where and when our job limit and eventually stop. Let’s be honest, we don’t do extra mile work instead we would seek for extra comfort. We are very afraid that we might step on other people’s shoe and would actually forget that our responsibilities as an employee, employer, government worker, or a member of the society doesn’t just stop to what is labelled on the job description or manuals.
- Being Focused on Problems and not on Looking for the Best or Alternative Solutions – Let’s be honest, we keep on crying over spilt milk that instead of looking for a best solution or yet an alternative solution to a problem, we would actually succumb ourselves to the problems. That is just how we do it. We keep on repeating the problems, putting the blame to anyone yet finds no solution at the end of the day. Such a waste of time and effort.
- Letting Pride Rule the Society – This is a true story of our society today. Wage earners, Employees or Political leaders would actually save their pride first before they do actions. Pride is a detergent soap, it should not be used by human beings because it doesn’t just ruin you, it can also ruin your relationship with other people. The worst case is you will be left alone because you are trying to uplift your pride first before anything else.
- Being Greedy to a Higher Positions – It’s never wrong to seek for a higher working position or a higher rank in our society however, if you are going to do anything including putting muds to other people just to clean yourself in order for you to get the position that you want is something very incorrect. The end doesn’t justify the means. It’s very fine to seek for higher positions as long as you do it with clean intentions, purest heart and a selfless means and ways.
Now, let’s answer the first question. How do we really defeat an enemy? How do we obtain peace? Is it through injustice killing, violent actions, or painful words that once uttered; you can no longer take back? The answer is NO.
Peace can be achieved if there is a consensus between a society, a nation or the world. However, it opposes to Karl Marx’s Conflict Theory wherein he coined that a society is in state of perpetual conflict and that social order maintained by domination and power. Nonetheless, the latter opposes to Max Weber’s and Talcott Parson’s theory of consensus and structural functionalism wherein they proposed that peace among the society, the nation and the world would boil down to consensus and equilibrium amongst people.
But if you would personally ask me how will I defeat an enemy? I would simply answer that the best weapon to destroy an enemy is to make them your friends. You just did not break emotional fall back from having an enemy, you also win because you have earned an enemy’s trust. If this is how the society, the nation and the world would defeat an enemy, I am very certain that we are all living in peace on earth. No greed, no pride, no anger and no grudge. Everything is going smoothly and it’s like breathing a fresh air every single day.
